Contentment & the Heart – Quill & Cross

Esau said he had enough. But having things is not the same as having God. Scripture will not let us rest in the appearance of contentment.

How prone the heart is to seek satisfaction in that which cannot satisfy, while the Fountain of Life stands open before us.

We are called to examine ourselves, yet one of Satan’s subtle devices is to turn the Christian’s gaze inward until Christ Himself fades from view.
